Are existing social- and family policies compatible with changes in family patterns? These and related questions\u00a0are addressed in the large-scale integrating project<strong> FamiliesAndSocieties \u2013 Changing families and sustainable societies: Policy contexts and diversity over the life course and across generations<\/strong>, coordinated by Stockholm University.<\/p><\/div><div class='clear_column'><\/div>\n<div class='one_third'><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The collaborative research project is financed in the European Union\u2019s Seventh Framework Programme (\u20ac6.5 millions in EU contribution; grant no. 320116).\u00a0 Launched in February 1, 2013 it will continue until January 31, 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The main objectives of the project are<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>To investigate the diversity of<br \/>\nfamily forms, relationships,<br \/>\nand life courses in Europe.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>To assess the compatibility of<br \/>\nexisting policies with\u00a0family<br \/>\nchanges.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>To contribute to evidence-<br \/>\nbased policy-making.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project will extend our knowledge on how policies promote well-being, inclusion and sustainable societal development among families.<\/p><\/div>\n<div class='two_third last_column'><p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-534\" src=\"http:\/\/fs.sociology.su.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Home3.jpg\" alt=\"Home3\" width=\"624\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Home3.jpg 624w, http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Home3-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">\u00a9FamiliesAndSocieties<\/span><\/h6><\/div><div class='clear_column'><\/div>\n<div class='full_width last_column'><p><strong>Multidisciplinary approach<\/strong>: We combine a wide range of expertise in social sciences, law and the humanities represented in the consortium of 25 research partners from 15 European countries, and three transnational civil society actors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Database<\/strong>: Two new databases will be developed within the project: one of the legal content of family forms available in European countries, and another on EC\/EU initiatives in core family-policy areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best policy practices<\/strong>: Together with various stakeholders, government agencies, national and local policy-makers, non-governmental organizations and additional members of the scientific community across Europe, the project will identify and disseminate innovative and best policy practices.<\/p><\/div><div class='clear_column'><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":16,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/7"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=7"}],"version-history":[{"count":115,"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/7\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3167,"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/7\/revisions\/3167"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.FamiliesAndSocieties.eu\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=7"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
